Holiday Greetings!

Today is Dec. 6, celebrated in many areas as St. Nicholas Day.  Whatever your celebrations at this time of year, may you find contentment – in time with family and friends, with enjoyable activities, and with your creative self.  Should you choose to give gifts, I encourage you, please, to patronize local businesses.

In this newsletter I want to bring you up to date on:

  • holiday activities and other changes in my downtown studio
  • classes old and new, held

Autumn Greetings!

I was reminded this morning that the shortening of the daylight is a good reminder to slow down and to focus on what brings me joy.  The problem (if I can even use that word) is that I LOVE what I do and so I am very busy burning the proverbial two-ended candle while feeling very blessed with my life. However, once again time has flown by with my not taking time to connect with my loyal followers!

Once again, I have let time get away from me – there are so many books and so little time!  (big grin!)
In this edition of my newsletter I talk about the Mt Mitchell Craft Fair, recent publications, and a heart-warming story of a paper beater that went from New Zealand to Tanzania!

I hope you will scroll all the way to the end and check out my calendar of events.  I am offering September workshops at Wilkes Art Gallery … Read the rest

Summer Greetings!

The astute among my regular readers will notice there was no June newsletter.  Time flies when I am busy and having fun!  In this edition I will catch you up on some of my activities and provide notice of upcoming events.  Foremost on my mind is the grand opening of ArtConnections, my gallery/studio/store in the Winston-Salem arts district. Also important are teaching venues past and present – including some completely new offerings! Last, but not Read the rest

I celebrated my 64th birthday on May 6.  I love feeling young by doing activities I love and sharing them with others.  I am excited this month to be telling you about the excellent papermaking workshop held last month, my trip to New York City, approaches to celebrating people and preserving family memories, and an update on ArtConnections, the newly formed artists’ cooperative of which I am 25%.  Surely there is something for everyone this month… Read the rest

The daffodils, lilies-of-the-valley, and tulip magnolia in my front yard are all in full bloom – spring has arrived early to North Carolina!  In this newsletter I am honoring the Romanian celebration of March 1, while inviting everyone to my spring open studio, sharing my recent creative activities, and celebrating new venues for art.  Come explore with me!

The following is excerpted from a blog I kept while living in Romania from Sept 2012 to July 2013.  You can find … Read the rest

What do you love?

Note that I said “what”, not “whom” – This month, in honor of Valentine’s Day, I want to talk about doing what I love, relationship love, and feeding the creative spirit as a form of self love.

I love books – whether creating, repairing, or reading.  I love being surrounded by creative people.  I am blessed to have found a group of women who enjoy creating and who are there to support one another.Read the rest

Holiday Greetings!

As this month’s newsletter “goes to press” I am enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday in Montana with family.  Definitely colder than my home in North Carolina – also quieter and closer to Mother Nature.  It has been a good visit.

My topics this month include holiday venues at which my work can be viewed, updates to my website, upcoming classes scheduled, new creations, and a gift certificate discount.Read the rest
